The Beginning
From a young age, I was captivated by the power of storytelling. My love for film began when I watched Harlem Nights, a star-studded comedy that left an indelible mark on my imagination. Seeing legends like Della Reese, Eddie Murphy, and Richard Pryor on screen sparked a dream within me—to one day tell stories that would move and inspire others.
As I grew older, my passion for movies like Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, and Beverly Hills Cop only deepened my connection to the art of storytelling. I found myself drawn to the magic that happens when narrative, emotion, and human connection come together. My favorite scene from Beverly Hills Cop, where Axel Foley causes a stir at the fancy hotel, is still a reminder of how humor and wit can shine through in any situation.
Although my early dreams revolved around acting, life had different plans, leading me into the world of marketing and advertising. It was during my 9 years in corporate America, running successful campaigns, that I realized something was missing. I saw that too often, ads felt disconnected from the real lives of the people they were meant to reach. I knew there had to be a way to bridge that gap—where brands could connect with their communities in authentic, meaningful ways.
That insight led to the birth of Lashley Studios 3 and my brainchild, Meet Me In New Jersey. Through this venture, I combine my passion for film with my expertise in advertising, creating a unique blend of community storytelling that allows brands to shine through the real people they serve. Today, I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to help businesses connect with audiences in ways that are genuine, personal, and memorable.
This journey has been filled with ups and downs, but each step has brought me closer to fulfilling that childhood dream—telling stories that truly matter.
